Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic surpassed every possible means of control globally. Almost all the countries kept their borders closed; of too high fluctuationsin the economy, and some even are and went through recession due to the emerging global pandemic. However, during a pandemic impacted by corporate board structure and diversity, consumer preference cannot be assumed or predicted. With lockdown, work-from-home regulations, unemployment, and other reasons, people spend more time on mobile phones and the internet. Therefore, researchers started to study more about the global pandemic COVID-19 on consumer preference and buying behaviour. Therefore, this master thesis aims to explore the impact of the pandemic on consumer preference and add further perspective to previous research, as there has not been any empirical research made on the impact of the pandemic on Telcos along with their corporate board structure and diversity. With the support of previous research, the Stimuli Organism Response (S-O-R) model, Situation Moderators Outcome (SMO) model was created that helped in data collection and analysis regarding corporate structure and diversity for this thesis. The research applied a qualitative method of data collection. Researchers conducted semi-structured interviews among thirty-two Australian customers. The findings made it visible that there is a high impact on customer preference of Telco due to service quality, availability during COVID-19, and other aspects. There is not a very high significant impact on corporate body structure or diversity among consumer preferences among Telco during a pandemic; however, people's dependency on mobile service providers seemed to be high.
