Abstract
This study explores the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI), in education with the goal of shedding light on its advantages and the challenges it brings. Through an extensive review of existing literature, the study investigates the barriers that schools encounter when integrating AI, how primary school students perceive and adopt AI, the subjects where AI proves most advantageous, and the factors that must be taken into account when using AI technology in the classroom. The study findings show that although AI has the potential to greatly improve personalized learning experiences in subjects, like math, language learning, and science there are still challenges to overcome. Some of the obstacles include a disconnect between the technology industry and educational researchers' concerns about ethics and data privacy as well as practical issues such as limited resources and insufficient teacher training. It is crucial for AI tools used in schools to be suitable for children's age easy to use and designed with considerations in mind. To summarize, this thesis highlights the potential and complexities of incorporating AI into primary education. Although there are various possibilities of AI's role to enhance educational experiences, it is crucial to take an approach that considers ethical, practical, and pedagogical factors in order to effectively integrate AI into the educational system.
