Abstract

Supply Chain Management (SCM) impacts the competitiveness, sustainability, and efficiency of the retail grocery in Australia. The effect of information, cost, and technological advancements in SCM are examined in this study (De Vass et al., 2021) Australian grocery merchants need to manage profitability and competitive pricing regarding different issues such as commodity prices, labour costs, and effective logistics (Christopher, 2016). SCM has undergone a technological revolution, allowing retailers to optimise operation through artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and data analytics (Wang et al., 2019). Technological advancements have enhanced transparency in the supply chain while improving demand forecasting, order fulfilment, and inventory management (Ivanov & Dolgui, 2020). This study helps to understand how supply chain movement and responsiveness are increased using integrated information systems such as ERP, which enable real time data sharing and communication. Information timeliness and accuracy impact wise decisions in supply chain management (Mabert et al., 2003). By analysing these components, this study offers a thorough understanding of how cost, technology and information flow interact to shape the SCM of retail in Australia. These insights can be applied in business and in academic knowledge (Marinagi et al., 2015).
