Abstract
Known Unknown presents a curated retrospective drawing on recordings from both TONUS PEREGRINUS and The Song Company, individually and together – the two ensembles through which the researcher’s performance practice research has been primarily realised. The research contribution lies in the curatorial act itself, made during the unprecented COVID period: the selection and sequencing of works across two decades and two ensembles reveals continuities in the researcher’s artistic and scholarly preoccupations that are not visible in the individual album releases. The compilation format constitutes a form of auto-ethnographic research, making explicit the threads connecting diverse performance projects into a coherent body of practice-based investigation.
