Abstract
New performing editions of works from the Eton Choirbook (Eton College Library, MS 178), created after workshop sessions at Eton College working directly from the original manuscript, and subsequent sessions working from a life-size facsimile at New College, Oxford, documented on film. The editions generate new knowledge about the notation, performance practice, and editorial challenges of this major 15th-century source. Unlike standard scholarly editions, these are explicitly performing editions – designed to enable direct performance while allowing performers to make additional interpretive choices, with in-score editorial guides.
