Abstract
A multi-channel sound installation investigating spatial audio presentation and the relationship between composed sound and architectural environment. The work extends the acoustic-spatial research explored in In memoria (B5) into a gallery/installation context with pre-recorded multi-channel output from the Vocal Constructivists album, testing whether compositional processes developed for choral ensembles can generate compelling spatial audio experiences when freed from the constraints of live performance. The researcher created the multi-channel audio for the installation from an album recording he had produced with The Vocal Constructivists.
