Biographical Details

Antony Pitts is a visionary creator and transformative leader – formerly a Chapel Royal Chorister, New College Oxford Scholar, BBC Senior Producer, Royal Academy of Music Senior Lecturer, Artistic Director of Australia's The Song Company, and the Founder-Director of a highly innovative ensemble in each hemisphere, TONUS PEREGRINUS & TONUS AUSTRALIS. In 2023 he was appointed as the first William Byrd Fellow & Ambassador at Excelsia University College in Sydney. As a composer and performer, Antony is known for his radical musical programming and cathartic performance style, working with Indigenous creative artists and emerging musicians, with a unique approach to historically informed performance from original notation, and extensive performance and recording experience in and across diverse genres and media.
